Dermaplaning is a treatment that uses a medical grade blade to gently exfoliate the outer layer of dead skin cells and remove fine vellus facial hair also known as “peach fuzz”. Dermaplaning pairs beautifully with laser treatments and chemical peels to enhance desired reasulta. Following the treatment, makeup application is smoother and other skincare products are able to penetrate deeper in turn making them more effective.
The ideal candidate for a Dermaplaning service has dry, rough, or uneven skin tone. Dermaplaning can also help with concerns of acne scars, fine lines and superficial hyperpigmentation. The procedure is not meant for excessively oily skin, rosacea or those experiencing active acne. Not sure if you're a candidate? Consultations are always complimentary.
Our most common question! No. There are different types of hair that grow on the body : vellus hair and terminal hair. Vellus hair is found on most areas of the body, whereas terminal hairs are found on the scalp, underarms and nether region. The soft and fine vellus hair grows back at it's original rate and texture, it is impossible for it to grow back thick and dark like terminal hair. One of the many reasons it has become such a popular service once this myth is understood!
By removing the surface layer of built up dead skin cells a chemical peel is able to penetrate deeper into the skin resulting in a more effective treatment. This also helps products penetrate further, offering better results from the ingredients. The combination of dermaplaning and a chemical peel leave the skin refreshed and rejuvenated. Promoting healthy new skin growth and targeting problems such as aging, sun spots and environmental damage. Proper homecare is imperative when starting your skin care journey. We offer 10% off with a complimentary skin consultation with our multi certified skin therapists.
The outer layer of our skin undergoes constant renewal every 28 days. All cells are turned over as the most superficial cells are replaced by new ones. As we age, our skin‘s natural process of exfoliation is slowed down. For this reason we reccomend every 4-6 weeks, to help increase this process and get it back on track.
